Our Clean Beauty Favorites For Winter Skin
Editors’ picks

I’ve always had super dry skin. Moisturizer has been a fact of life for me for a long, long time. Now my dry skin is also aging skin and when combined with Berlin’s insanely dry water and cold winter temps, the struggle, is indeed, real. Since turning 40 I’ve spent kind of an embarrassing amount of time researching skincare products, both online and in real time, so I now feel I’m somewhat of a (self-proclaimed) expert. So, herewith, I bring you some of my favorites that I’ve discovered through a lot of trial and error. And just one little tidbit, if you, like me, struggle with dry skin…skip the toner!
Depending on the soap you use, it can be one of the most drying parts of your skincare routine. Not so with this cleansing gel from Oskia, it feels hydrating and smooth as you apply, and so obviously nourishing your skin.
I’m a big fan of Vintner’s Daughter Active Botanical Serum, something I’ve professed over and over here on Wunder Stories, which is why I’ve excluded it from this list. Lately though, due to the somewhat prohibitive price of Vintner’s Daughter, I’ve started rotating use with this probiotic serum. It’s really worked so well this winter.
I’ve loved Juice Beauty for a long time, and really love this collaboration they’ve done with Goop. Exfoliating is especially important in winter, and this masque really does deliver on its ‘instant facial’ promise.
Ok, so this is one of the products here I have not yet tried myself, but the recommendation comes from a friend who swears by it. Pro-tip: apply the hydrating mask after exfoliating with the Goop Instant Facial.
It was hard to pick just one Dr. Barbara Sturm product for this post, but I couldn’t do a winter skincare post without a recommendation for lip balm and this one is just about the best there is.
Everyone needs a stick of this in their bag. Use to add texture to hair, for flyaways, lip balm, or adding a bit of a glow.
Rahua was one of the first clean haircare brands that I found that really did the job. Their leave-in treatment is really nourishing of the hair and scalp and just feels so calming when applied.
Ok, so I’m jumping on the bandwagon here. We’ve all been inundated with the hype surrounding Augustinus Bader. But, I’m here to say the hype is real and this really is the star of the show for tackling dry skin.
