A Stylish Wunder Mom Shares Her Holiday Packing List
Marta Jagdfeld the founder of Fine Hunting a treasure trove of found objects, not only curates wonderful pieces for the home she is also an arbiter of great style. So we asked her what she is packing for the holidays.
First of all, I always overpack. It doesn't matter if I'm traveling close or far, for a night or a long holiday—I simply can't resist taking too many things. The funny thing is that I know beforehand I'll bring extra stuff back, so it would be wise to leave some space in my luggage. But hey, who cares!
My carry-on is usually a Mallorcan basket that my girlfriends regularly bring me from Deia. We always laugh that these baskets never last longer than two seasons.
I always bring one or two kimonos to wear over my bathing suit at the beach. I've been collecting kimonos for ages and now sell them in my studio. They are vintage Japanese silk or cotton pieces—beautiful, eye-catching, and comfortable.
When it comes to clothes, it's mostly dresses and pajamas. Everyone who knows me isn't surprised anymore when I show up at the airport in pajamas. I have a thing for good pajamas, especially men's cuts made in England, like blue-check with pink trim. I was raised by tailoring enthusiasts and still go to the same tailor as my grandmother and mother. Most of my dresses are custom-made by our Polish seamstress.
I always take a hat. I'm very lucky that two of my girlfriends, Maryam Keyhani and Berenika Czarnota, make hats, so there's always something exciting on my head.
